Aerium Summit Day 3
Honoring Achievements and Advancing Aviation with Scholarships and Charitable Contributions
May 30, 2024 – [Johnstown, PA] – The third day of the Aerium Summit was highlighted by the presence of distinguished guests, including Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis and County Commissioner Tom Chernisky, who announced scholarships and awards to students and professionals. Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis had the honor of presenting the awards, which were announced by Commissioner Chernisky and Heather Tomasko.
This year's scholarship recipients include two outstanding students from Armstrong High School and Bishop Carroll High School each awarded $1,000 to support their academic and career pursuits in aviation.
A highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the Women in Aviation scholarship to Raewyn Duvall. This special recognition is awarded to a woman who continually pushes boundaries and paves the way for future generations of women in aviation. As part of the award, Aerium donated $5,000 to the aviation charity of Raewyn Duvall's choice, "Women in Aerospace."
Lieutenant Governor Davis expressed his admiration for the recipients, stating, "It is an honor to celebrate the achievements of these remarkable individuals. Their dedication and passion for aviation inspire us all, and I am confident they will continue to soar to new heights."
Commissioner Tom Chernisky, in his announcement, emphasized the importance of supporting young talent in aviation. "These scholarships represent Aerium’s commitment to fostering the next generation of aviation professionals. Jane, Rob, Katelyn, Allyson, have all demonstrated exceptional potential, and maybe some day they can follow in the footsteps of Raewyn. We are proud to support their journeys."
Heather Tomasko, Chair of Aerium's Women in Aviation Committee, highlighted the significance of Raewyn Duvall's award. "Raewyn's dedication and enthusiasm for aviation exemplify the spirit of innovation and perseverance that we aim to cultivate in our industry. She is a role model for aspiring female aviators, and we are thrilled to recognize her achievements."
Raewyn Duvall, upon receiving her award, expressed her gratitude and excitement, saying, "I am incredibly honored to receive the Women in Aviation award. This recognition motivates me to continue pursuing my dreams and to inspire other young women to explore careers in aviation. I am grateful to Aerium for this support."
