Statement on Pennsylvania’s Selection for the FAA eIPP Program
Aerium congratulates the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation on the state’s selection as part of the National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO) Advanced Air Mobility Multistate Collaborative for the Federal Aviation Administration’s Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing Integration Pilot Program (eIPP).
Pennsylvania’s inclusion in this national initiative places the Commonwealth among a select group of states working to advance the safe integration of emerging aviation technologies into the United States airspace system. Through collaborative efforts among states, federal agencies, and industry stakeholders, the program is intended to help inform the policies, infrastructure considerations, and operational frameworks that will guide the future of Advanced Air Mobility across the country.
Aerium commends the leadership of Mike Carroll, Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Meredith Biggica, Deputy Secretary for Multimodal Transportation, and the work of the Department’s aviation leadership team, including Anthony McCloskey, P.E., Director of the PennDOT Bureau of Aviation, in helping position the Commonwealth to participate in this important national initiative.
Aerium also recognizes the role of the broader multi-state collaboration convened through National Association of State Aviation Officials, which brings together aviation leaders from across the country to coordinate policy approaches and share best practices as Advanced Air Mobility technologies continue to evolve.
